Brad Pitt seemed very relaxed yesterday considering his partner Angelina Jolie had just adopted another addition to their ever expanding family, a young Vietnamese boy named Pax Thien. Brad spent the afternoon at the office of Scott Free Pictures run by Ridley Scott who directed Brad in his breakout role in ‘Thelma and Louise’ and Tony Scott who directed Brad in ‘Spy Game’. Brad then had a cigarette with a friend before climbing aboard his Ducati and taking off.

Angelina Jolie has landed in Vietnam today to pick-up what could be the next piece in re-creating those famed Benetton advertisements. She arrived in Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon and is rumored to be adopting a 3-year-old boy from the Tam Binh orphanage.

There will be an adoption ceremony with Vietnamese officials tomorrow followed by a meeting with the U.S. Consulate who must approve the adoption before she can take the child home.

If all goes according to plan, Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh could have a new brother by the weekend.

Was money behind Angelina Jolie's fast track adoption?

Angelina Jolie in New Orleans. (03/05/2007).

Washington, March 14: Rumor has it that actress Angelina Jolie has promised to pay two million dollars to the Tam Binh Orphan Centre as and when the process for the adoption of the boy she has chosen completes.

However, the director of the orphanage, Nguyen Van Trung, has refuted claims of "money changing hands" by saying that the only purpose of giving the boy in adoption to Jolie was to provide him with a safe home.

"Our goal is to seek a safe home for the child. Jolie has not promised to give anything to the centre," US Weekly magazine quoted him as saying.

Van Trung has also revealed that the little boy was abandoned at a Ho Chi Minh City hospital as an infant, and then taken to the orphanage. He said that the staff at the centre tried their best to locate his parents but failed.

The centre’s director also said that the boy was in good health and liked playing soccer.

"He is in good health. He is a little bit shy," Trung said.

The boy will be given to Jolie at a ceremony in Ho Chi Min City.

13 March 2007 - Angelina Jolie may become mother to a 3 1/2 year old Vietnamese boy within weeks, according to a Vietnamese official.

The boy was abandoned at a Ho Chi Minh City hospital as an infant and taken into an orphanage. The staff there was unable to locate his parents.

"He is in good health," orphanage director Nguyen Van Trung told AP. He gets along well with other children. However, "He is a little bit shy."

The processing of Jolie's adoption request is being expedited and will be completed before 31 March, the director of Vietnam's International Adoption Department, Vu Duc Long, told the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Once approval is granted, Jolie will be free to pick up the child anytime.

Jolie has applied for adoption as a single mother since Vietnamese law frowns on adoptions by unmarried couples. However, both Pitt and Jolie have jointly planned for the adoption.

It was a "process that began shortly after Shiloh was born [in May]," a source told People

Angelina Jolie plans to adopt Vietnamese child

HANOI, Vietnam — Angelina Jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country's top adoption official said Friday.
A U.S. adoption agency representing the 31-year-old actress filed the papers at Vietnam's International Adoption Agency, said Vu Duc Long, the agency's director.
"She just filed the papers this week," Long said.
Jolie and her partner, Brad Pitt, have three children: 5-year-old son Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; 2-year-old daughter Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and another daughter, Shiloh, who was born to the couple in May.
Long would not name the U.S. adoption agency working with Jolie, who applied to adopt as a single parent.
A phone message left with Jolie's Los Angeles-based manager, Geyer Kosinski, wasn't immediately returned.
Jolie and Pitt, 43, made a surprise visit to Vietnam at Thanksgiving, when they visited the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.
Their pictures were splashed across the front page of Vietnamese newspapers, showing the couple cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike.
Nguyen Van Trung, the director of the Tam Binh orphanage, declined to comment. He said he was awaiting the papers from the International Adoption Agency.
