Tori Spelling's mother Candy spends thousands on gifts for her new grandson

16 March 2007 - Tori Spelling's mother Candy has spent thousands of dollars on gifts for her new grandson.

Candy, who recently made peace with her daughter, visited exclusive Hollywood baby boutique Petit Tresor on Wednesday ( 14.03.07), the day after grandson Liam was born, and bought an array of lavish presents.

A source said: "Candy spent over $1,700 in the store. She bought a $1,250 Mia Bossi leather diaper bag, half-a-dozen romper suits and gowns, airplane booties and a babybot mobile."

Candy and Tori stopped speaking after Aaron Spelling, Candy's husband and Tori's father, died and left Tori a derisory sum in his will.

After Liam was born, Candy said: "Words can't describe the joy and elation I feel at this truly happy event.

"I am looking forward to doting on my new little grandson and all the memorable fun that comes with it."

13 March 2007 - Tori Spelling and her mother Candy are trying to repair their fractured relationship.

The former 'Beverly Hills 90210' star and her mother stopped speaking after the death of her father, Aaron Spelling, but hope to make peace in time for the birth of Tori's first baby - a son - due in April.

Candy said: "We have been in touch with each other and are in the process of communicating and working things out."

Tori's 28-year-old brother Randy said: "My sister and my mom have been communicating for the past few weeks.

"They are going to be there for each other and the baby. My mom is having a grandchild, and it puts things into perspective.

"You always have that motherly instinct. People can fight, but they love each other."

Yesterday (12.03.07), Tori, 33, told the 'Today' show she is hoping to reconcile with her mother.

Earlier this month, she and husband Dean McDermott opened their new bed and breakfast for reality TV show 'Tori and Dean: Inn Love'.
