Ashley Judd to visit Jaipur for HIV cause

Hollywood actress Ashley Judd will be here on a three-day visit to see an NGO's activities in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention and maternal and child health.The star of such thrillers as 'Kiss the Girls', 'Double Jeopardy' and 'High Crimes' will be visiting the Rajasthan capital as part of an initiative by PSI/India.Ashley is a board member of PSI (earlier known as Population Services International) and is the global ambassador for YouthAIDS, an education and prevention initiative of PSI. A not-for-profit organisation, PSI/India works in the areas of health and women's empowerment.Ashley will be here March 22-25 and during this period, besides going to field areas, will also meet Rajasthan's Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.She will also travel to Mumbai and Delhi. Speaking about the forthcoming visit, Tim McLellan, managing director of PSI/India, said in a statement said: 'PSI/India is greatly excited about Ashley Judd's visit. 'After several years of effort, and with the support of the government of India and our donor partners, we have been able to run programmes, which have demonstrated impact. As our board member, Ashley Judd is keen to see the success of the various programmes that PSI/India and other partners have implemented.' Ashley will address women's issues that are close to her heart. She will see how families can be empowered to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS and unintended pregnancies. India has 5.1 million HIV/AIDS patients. PSI/India is an NGO registered in 1980 with a mandate to assist the government in the fields of reproductive health, HIV prevention, and maternal and child health. It harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address the health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations

Britney having a tough time in therapy

It seems pop diva Britney Spears is having a tough time in coming to terms with her drug addiction in rehab.

Fellow patients at the Promises rehab centre in Malibu have revealed that the 25-year-old singer is having difficulty opening up during therapy. Spears is undergoing group therapy sessions with young drug addicts, reports the Sun.

Sources inside the Promises rehab centre in Malibu, US, say the tonsured star is seeking help for boozing and drug use. Pals haPublishve claimed they saw her take cocaine and ecstasy.

Fellow patients say the 25-year-old singer is having difficulty opening up during therapy.

"She was having a tough time. I think she is having trouble confronting her problem," a patient was quoted by the Sun, as saying.

Crawford Regrets Disappointing Baldwin

Supermodel Cindy Crawford is afraid that she disappointed Alec Baldwin on their blind date, as she did not give the looks of the girl often seen on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine.

She revealed that Baldwin once set her up for a semi-blind date with his brother when the 'Cooler' star was an up-and-coming actor. Crawford said that she would never be able to forget the look of disappointment on Baldwin's face when she greeted him at her place.

"I got pulled together for a date but I wasn't a walking, talking Cosmo cover and I got that feeling of, when I opened the door, he was disappointed that, in real life, I wasn't a walking, talking Cosmo cover," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

She also admitted being troubled frequently by the fact that she is not as beautiful in real life as she appears to be on the magazine covers. "We're lucky; a lot of times we get great hair, great make-up, a stylist, great lightinPublishg, but we don't wake up looking like that," she said.

Katie Holmes wants Cruise control!

Katie Holmes doesn't do much on her own these days when hubby Tom Cruise is around, and that includes posing for solo photographs.

Photogs had a hard time getting a solo pic of the Batman star at the post-Oscar parties, for she refused to oblige photogs unless hubby Tom Cruise was by her side.

According to a source, the actress would not leave her husband's side at the post-Oscar bash at Hollywood's Morton's restaurant on Sunday, Feb 25.

"She looks at him for direction," Femalefirst quoted the source, as saying.

It was only when the couple attended the posh affair thrown by Vanity Fair, that she posed for solo photographs, and that too when egged on by her superstar hubby.

At the party, Tom and Katie, or TomKat as they have been dubbed, rubbed shoulders with a host of other stars at the glitzy bash including Madonna, Dame Helen Mirren, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Naomi Campbell, Diddy and Kirsten Dunst.

Holmes also spent time gushing about daughter Suri.

"Suri is doing really, really well. She's a beautiful little girl. I feel so honoured to be her mother, really," she said. (ANI)

Paris may go to jail

According to a witness, Hilton mouthed off to the deputies, prompting the officials to ask her to step out of her convertible. Although a search of the trunk turned up nothing, her traffic record revealed that she was driving on a suspended driver's license, reports www.hollywood.tv.

After that the deputies decided to impound her Bentley.

Her license had been suspended last September after she entered a plea of no contest on a DUI (drunken driving) charge.

For that offence, Hilton received 36 months probation on condition that she would obey all laws. But she has violated her probation and might be fined or jailed for three months.

Hilton did not look happy as her $200,000 convertible was being towed away.

Her publicist Elliot Mintz said that Hilton had failed to notice that her headlights weren't on because the parking was brightly lit.
