Lindsay Lohan’s dad gets out of jail today, she’ll cope with vodka-flavored water

Lindsay Lohan’s dad Michael is going to be released from the Collins Correctional Facility outside of Buffalo, NY today. The 46-year-old father of infamous starlet Lindsay was sentenced to a four year sentence at the end of May, 2005, for multiple charges over time including assault and drunk driving. He seems to be out on good behavior as less than two years have passed.

While in prison, the elder Lohan seems to have found God and has written Lindsay at least two public letters urging her to turn her life over to religion as he has done.

He also sent a strange drawing to the NY Daily News gossip column in which he depicted Lindsay as a young innocent beset by greedy lawyers and paparazzi.

Lindsay refused to speak to her father shortly before he went to prison and was said to be thinking of filing for a restraining order against him.

Michael’s mother, Lindsay’s grandmother, is going to be having a welcome back party for her son at her Long Island home. It is not known if newly rehabbed Lindsay will be there, although I doubt it.

Lindsay is in NY as far as I know, and could presumably make it. A newly blonde Lohan whe was seen on Sunday having lunch with her enabling mother Dina downtown. She was also out that night at NY clubs Stereo, where she flirted with just-dumped DJ AM, and The Box, where she struck out with Jude Law. (Or maybe they were just talking or whatever.)

In related news, Lindsay still seems to be drinking vodka out of water bottles and screwing up at work. The National Enquirer had two stories this week of her latest exploits.

One has her at a late night Hollywood Hills party almost running into an assistant producer on her new film, I Know Who Killed Me. Lindsay, who ditched an entire day of work after showing up late and puking in her trailer, probably costing the film tens of thousands, didn’t want a boss to catch her partying and escaped out of a bathroom window. And if we needed any more proof that Lindsay isn’t staying sober after her stint at that revolving door rehab, she was spotted getting vodka poured into her water bottle at a club where she was DJing:

Lindsay kept running between the DJ booth and her VIP table to dance with her friends. She was drinking from a water bottle and had her Parliament Lights practically welded to her hand. Ah, but we couldn’t help notice a male friend was intermittently ducking behind the couch and pouring vodka into Lindsay’s water bottle! How many days sober Lindsay?

With a history of alcoholism in her family, Lindsay should have taken rehab seriously and tried to pick up some hobbies besides shopping and going to clubs every night. I hope it doesn’t take an accident or tragedy to get that girl sober.

Ressurecting her public image and career will take some drastic measures, that’s for sure. This girl’s star is fading fast.
