American Idol Productions Amidst New Sex-Scandal

Former American Idol contestant Antonella Barba was involved in another sex-scandal this season.

March 13, 2007 : former assistant production accountant for American Idol is suing the Idol producers and a season-4 contestant Mario Vazquez.

The Los Angeles Times reports, the lawsuit filed Friday, March 9, by Magdaleno Olmos states that he was wrongfully terminated for complaining about sexual harassment by Vazquez.

Vazquez withdrew from the Top 12 competition on the show in March 2005 for "personal reasons."

Olmos claims that he was sexually harassed by Vazquez starting February 2005 and when he made a formal complaint to a supervisor about the matter, he was encouraged to "keep this information to himself."

One occasion, Olmos claims in the lawsuit, Vasquez followed him into the bathroom of the Idol studio, and asked Olmos "if he wanted oral sex."

Vazquez, it states, then pushed his way into the stall and started masturbating. Olmos fled the bathroom, but alleges that Vasquez, with his pants still down, grabbed him in an effort to stop him.

Olmos claims to have been fired in May 2005 as a direct result of his sexual harassment complaint. He is suing for unspecified damages.

Also named in the lawsuit are American Idol Productions Inc., Fremantle Media North America Inc., FOX Entertainment Group Inc. and FOX Broadcasting Co.
