Michael Jackson in London to sell Beatles?

Michael Jackson

16 March 2007 - Michael Jackson, 48, jetted into London yesterday with sons Prince, 10, and Paris Michael, nine, reports Daily Mail.

The King of Pop is believed to be in town to negotiate sale of a part of his Beatles catalog to Sir Paul McCartney.

Jackson had outbid Sir Paul McCartney and John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, to buy the songs for £24million in 1985. The purchase gave him control over the Fab Four's repertoire and hits by artists such as Bob Dylan and Neil Diamond.

Jackson's rights to the music, which he co-owns with Sony, are valued at between 250 million pounds and 400 million pounds.

Jackson is being forced to sell off part of his catalog in a bid to stave off bankruptcy.

In the past, Sir Paul has evinced interest in acquiring the Fab Four's repertoire so a deal could be in the offing.
